Protect and enhance your longterm health,
with Dr. Liesa Harte.
The Executive Health Evaluation
Dr. Liesa provides a comprehensive assessment of your total physical and psychological well-being. The Executive Health Evaluation is drawn from your medical history overview, up-to-date physical and mental health evaluations as well as imaging and laboratory studies as needed. This evaluation establishes an accurate baseline of your health. From there, you and Dr. Liesa can begin working toward reaching your specific health goals and longterm well-being.
Genetic Testing
As part of your Executive Health Evaluation or at any time that you wish, Dr. Liesa can arrange for comprehensive genetic testing.
The Human Genome Project has provided us the ability to screen for certain diseases that have a genetic predisposition. As part of our practice, you will be offered the option of genetic screening through Navigenics (navigenics.com). After submitting a saliva sample in a special collection tube, your DNA will be screened for genetic markers providing information regarding your risk of developing an ever-increasing number of disorders, including:
- Cancers: Breast, Colon, Lung, Melanoma, Prostate, Stomach
- Auto-immune: Graves' Disease, Lupus, Psoriasis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sarcoidosis
- Vascular: Abdominal Aneurysm, Brain Aneurysm, Deep Vein Thrombosis
- GI: Celiac Disease, Crohn's Disease, Hemochromatosis, Lactose Intolerance
- Neurologic: Alzheimer's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Restless Legs Syndrome
- Cardiac: Atrial Fibrillation, Heart Attack
- Eye: Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration
- Endocrine: Diabetes Type 2, Obesity
- Bone: Osteoarthritis
As part of this testing service, you receive 24 hour access to board-certified genetic counselors. These counselors will help explain what your genetic results mean and help determine which preventative measures to take. As new conditions become testable, your results will be continuously updated.
Based on the results of your genetic tests, Dr. Liesa will work with you to implement preventive measures to help protect your longterm health.
